Metaphor Poem: SunShine
I am the Sun,
Shining my bright warm UV light rays
That act as my kindness,
Giving warmth to all living things.
I am the light that guides people
Throughout the day
There will be random times when I will still shine,
But it will also be raining.
I am the energy source people count on
for various reasons
When your around me, sometimes
I feel a bit hot headed,
I'll give off sun burns.
I'll help all living things grow
Also, there will be times when my
light will be blocked off by rain clouds,
The land will become wet and cold,
But i will always shine again to be
The light people count on for warmth.

(Final)-KC3-Sub-topic: Technology
Hawaii’s Technology
Our technology is currently developing rapidly and our technology is also getting more complicated and more advanced. Hawaii benefits from our technology by being able to do much more helpful things, such as researching on hawaii's environment etc. Although, technology requires electricity which also costs money, and currently Hawaii is finding out ways to make technology cheaper. Hawaii is also using its own technology to help its tropical environment to preserve our natural resources and wild life.
Hawaii's technology is basically based on aquaculture technology and research on hawaii's environment such as scenery and landscape. Hawaii is very fortunate to be the world-center of aquaculture expertise in a wide variety of different species and technologies. Hawaii has been having its own private and public research organizations that have pioneered the development of extensive, semi-intensive, and intensive culture systems and regularly seek information around the world. The fact that Hawaii is the world-center of aquaculture expertise, I believe that it is a good thing, considering that Hawaii is a tropical place and also surrounded by water helps the researchers that are researching on hawaii. Being surrounded by water will be a lot easier to the researchers since their research is based on aquaculture technology. Local entities have extensive expertise in spawning and taking care of mullet, milkfish, fresh water prawns, marine shrimp, and marine finfish. Spawning these types of fishes is a good advantage considering that some parts of the world don’t spawn these types of aquatic animals anywhere else around the world.
Hawaii is home to its own leading technology companies in seaweed production and micro-algae.The production of seaweed will help our oceans environment and help sea life and make healthy habitats. Also micro-algae will also help because we can also use our technology to convert algae as a sustainable source of alternative resource. There are over 30 different types of plants and animals that are researched and raised in hawaii, they are grouped into four categories, algae, seaweed, shellfish, and fin-fish. Researchers use our technology today to research all those species that inhabit hawaii. Researching all those species would be a benefit just for hawaii so we know more about the different plants and animals for possible safety reasons.
Hawaii is also starting to use renewable energy; they are starting to use solar panels and also use wind farms. Now that hawaii has started using renewable resources. We can now use our technology cheaper. Also, prices would go down for electricity bills and that would help the economy a little. Currently 19 high schools in Hawaii recently have installed solar panels on their school roofs, it is said that they will save the Department of Education a lot of money on electricity, that would mean Hawaii's school will have a higher chance of getting more educational technology.
Hawaii's technology now has benefited us in so many different ways, we have found out so much and discovered a lot of different things with technology. Technology is now advancing quickly and we are inventing new technology. Hawaii being a small place, our amount of technology is limited, and we must conserve the resources we have. Overall Hawaii's technology is beneficial to all of us.

Special Place (Essay)
Whenever I got mad or very aggravated I would always listen to music and think to myself about the thing that was irritating me. Whenever I think things over I tend to be more relax and start to calm down. I try to think of a happy memory from my past or a happy place to calm myself.
A place that I consider special would be ice palace, although I have a lot of bad memories at ice palace the feeling of the icy cold air, the loud, pounding music, and the smooth movement of me skating across the ice is very relaxing to me. Just Skating smoothly across the ice makes me feel like im gliding, it makes me feel like im really fast as the cold icy wind is passing by. As I skate faster and faster I would have to dodge some people so I dont fall or cause a accident, and as I dodge people, as they pass, I feel like im so powerful, just the feeling that I can go through people in a crowded area makes me feel like I am not able to fall and just go with the flow, its very relaxing.
Also, whenever I get mad or irritated at school, during break or lunch I would always take my time to walk around and think, and as I walk around, I walk to the third floor and look at the view of the city of in the distance and relax there al by myself.

Food Final Draft
Lumpia, it is a delicious Filipino version of the egg roll. The Lumpia I am describing is the
"shu mai" version which consists of fried meat with various types of vegetables like carrots, celery, onion, and garlic. Lumpia can used as a side dish but my family uses it as a main dish.
As i grew up, my Mom would always cook her home made Lumpia on special occasions. she on she would always cook this lumpia whenever we had a party, reunions, or just at random times we she would feel like it. My mom really never made her lumpia very often, she would make it about 3 times a month. My mom got her recipe from our own family friend. My mom says she doesn't not intend to sell it and wants to keep the recipe in the family. A long time ago, when my mom would make a lot of lumpia for a big party, some of my aunties and uncles would help for the party, they would always come to our house and talk with my mom and dad and have fun, my mom and her sister would always be in the kitchen fixing up the ingredients and frying the lumpia, wrapping it, or make more meat for the lumpia. As for my dad and my uncles, they would get all the drinks and prepare the tent, tables and chairs. The reason why i enjoy it so much is because the memories it holds and the delicious flavor in my mouth. Also my brother agrees, he had the same memories as i have so we said "since i also grew up eating this lumpia, i also think it is delicious."
Lumpia, the way my mother makes it, we all eat it with vinegar, it amplifies the flavor, it has a crunchy shell, and as it crunches you taste the meat mixing with the vinegar as it flourishes in your mouth and it explodes with flavor as you chew it. With all the ingredients in the lumpia, frying it seals in the flavor and as you chew it just explodes as i said earlier, so describing it would be like a flavor bomb and as you insert it into your mouth it detonates on tongue with a flavor that'll leave you wanting more.
